Nights in Rodanthe - Having spent a great deal of time on the Outer Banks and in Rodanthe, I went in expecting a very OBX-centric film. I left greatly disappointed and wishing I had spent my $4.50 on The House Bunny.
The only things that made me feel 'at home' were a brief 30 seconds during the opening montage. Other than that, I could have been watching any beach-based romance novel.
On a related note, don't ever watch the early showing of a film like this. My wife and I were the only people in there under 60.
Forgetting Sarah Marshall - pretty funny stuff, def. good for some laughs 7/10
Clerks - 8/10
If you like Kevin Smith's stuff, you've probably already seen it.
And if you haven't then you're missing out.
The Foot Fist Way - Pretty blah. Had a few good moments. Very draggy and mostly unfunny.
Smart People - Not horrible. The interplay between Ellen Page and TH Church was very entertaining. Quaid and Horse Face Parker were OK in small doses.
My Bestfriends girl - Typical Dane Cook movie. I actually liked it, as I've liked all his previous flicks. I can say it's pretty much the same as Good Luck Chuck.
The Rocker - it's not bad, but it's not Superbad meets School of Rock.
It's got a good story, and some comedic parts.
Appaloosa - Ed Harris , Viggo Mortensen - Kind of an old school Western . This is more of a movie of friendship , loyalty and justice . Basic premise of rogue landowner terrorizing a small town and 2 friends ( Harris and Mortensen )are hired as the marshall and deputy to put a stop to it . As a subplot toss in Renee Zellweger as a love interest . Shootouts , chases and showdowns , the ingredients to any western .
What would you rate it?
L-Language , V-Violence , N-Mild nudity . Just kidding .
If you like old westerns you'll like it . Not going to win an academy award but I really liked the characters and character relationship between Harris and Mortensen .
